I’m so thankful you said that playing with your children for 30 min to an hour can be exhausting. Thank you for your honesty.

My tip: go to bed with a clean house (no matter how tired you are) so today’s mess doesn’t start tomorrow on a bad note. Kitchen cleaned, dishwasher started, toys put away, 1 load of laundry done, Cheerios vacuumed up off the carpet, etc.

One line a day journal filled out at the end of each day:
*one line for the day’s events
*one line for each child; a milestone, a memorable event, story, or funny kid quote, etc
*one line of spiritual: prayer, gratitude or a verse

This little journal that takes only a couple minutes will be a precious memento when your children are older... it feels like you don’t have the time now, but if you don’t take these moments now, you’ll never capture them in your memory. 💝

As a mom of older kids/young adults and teens, I can definitely encourage all moms to listen to you to “stop everything and play/spend time with your littles!” They grow up so fast. You’ll always be happy you colored with your daughter and played legos with your son....and you won’t regret the times you didn’t get the floors clean by doing so!

The idea of getting dressed as if you were going to work, even as a SAHM, is one I haven't thought of. And I have been a mom for 17 years! My babies are no more, from 9-17 years old now. I stay in bed until the last possible minute, then get up and start breakfast, then getting people up and kinda forget to take care of myself.

I know this is basic, but I make my bed every day. No matter how my day goes I walk in my room each night and feel better. It helps me sleep better as well.

Here are a few of mine!
- Tidy the bedroom before leaving it in the morning, including gathering laundry and making the bed.
-Have a daily "quiet time" even for kids who don't nap anymore. We have quiet time while the toddler naps and this is when I do self care like exercise!
-Meal planning. I keep my meal plan stuck to the fridge and try to batch cook on the weekends to make the week go more smoothly.
-Get kids involved in daily chores! After breakfast my 6 kids and I do a quick whole house cleanup before starting our homeschool day. It takes less than an hour and every room gets touched.

I found something soooo simple as putting hooks at their level by the door leading to the garage helped so much..now I can say..”Go get your coats on- mommy will be there in a moment to help with zips and shoes!”

Also, thank you for your wisdom. I have 4 teenagers and 4 toddlers. But, I have found that I learn a lot from you. You’re not pushing perfection or some crazy Instagram lifestyle; you’re just genuine and sweet. You are so refreshing!

I love the suggestion to play in increments with the kids throughout the day... I never thought about that. I will try that.

I am so happy to hear someone else who loves being a housewife but actually hates staying at the house all day. I feel like when I tell people if I stay in my house all day I’ll go crazy they perceive it as me being unhappy with what I’m doing. That’s absolutely untrue I love getting to be with my kids but I just can’t stay in one place for a whole day.

Getting out of the house is KEY. Both of my boys are in school now and as long as it isn’t below -15 C (I’m in Alberta) or very windy, I get out for at least an hour walk every day. I walk to errands - the library, thrift store, quick grocery pick up, etc. It has kept me sane this past year

We live too far from town to make a trip every day, but luckily our daily animal chores get us up and moving outside.

My mom drilled it into my brain to not step over things. To this day if I step over something instead of putting it in its correct spot (or in the garbage if that's where it belongs), I get this guilty-ish feeling.
The amount of times I heard "How many of you just stepped over this instead of picking it up??" Lol

I’m a huge proponent of the leaving the house tip. We don’t do it daily, but at least 2 week days and then almost every weekend day. Sometimes it’s just to get the kids strapped into their own seats so they aren’t picking on each other. Sometimes we just go for a prayer drive, sometimes we go to the park, sometimes mama just needs a coffee, sometimes it’s running an errand or two, sometimes it’s grabbing lunch at Chick-fil-a. It makes a huge difference in everyone’s mood.

I love that you are promoting The Bible Recap! And I love that you start your day that way. We have incorporated this into our homeschool and my nine-year-old and six-year-old son have now read through the entire Bible with me one and a half times! It is a game changer! My boys know more about the Bible now than I did when I was 35 years old.

1 Bible study
2 dress and facial routine
3 listen to something for self development
4 drinking water
5 cleaning surfaces
6 stop and play with children for just a few mins
7 leave the house

Okay so I don't do any of these (except cleaning surfaces, but not even my floors) daily. 😭

The only thing I absolutely do daily is drink coffee.

My kids are a little older now but I can promise your babies will remember that Moma always stopped what she was doing when they wanted and needed her attention and spent time with them. Time is our most precious and fleeting commodity. They will look back and think about how special you made them feel. And you made them important to you. I’ve just found you and you are precious. I’m enjoying your video very much!

Love this video! Thank you for sharing. One thing I try to do a couple times a week not daily but remember nap time isn’t always work time for mommy. Sometime mommy needs some rest/chill time and that’s actually a good thing to do. 😊
