This rusty vise was a real challenge! I disassembled it with hammers, after that i restored all of the metal parts and gave them a nice new painting. I also made a new handle on the lathe! After reassembling this vise works perfectly fine again!

Very nice video!
That's a pretty cool lathe with that milling attachment you got there, I love it.

I will never get over how all of the restoration channels (TySy, My Mechanics, Mr. Patina, etc. etc.) All know each other and even seem like they're all friends, it always warms my heart when I see comments from another channel or see them send/recieve something from one another, its so sweet

Some people might say, “why go through all this trouble….Just get a new one.” However, the satisfaction this guy got along with all his viewers in immeasurable!

Vice restoration is an equivalent of how in evolution everything goes to crab.
Every restoration channel has a vice video or two or even more. Not complaining, these things are impressive, and so are the videos and work put into them!

I learned to keep my household tools clean and shiny by watching Mr. Patina and My mechanic. Thank you both.

This one came out even better than I expected. The handle is wonderful, and I like how you kept the original pitting in the vise itself while making the user areas perfect again. She’s ready to go another 100 years for sure.

Simply a genius. I love when somebody could take the high-quality items of yesterday that have been extremely neglected and refurbish them to store quality condition they deserve it and it takes a certain type of person to do this. This is heavy patients, heavy knowledge, and simply a ton of artistic skill. Always love to watch one of these videos

Gotta say, these videos, restoring tools, and making jigs are three of my favorite things. God job on the vice!

I find it so relaxing to know that the fellow will always have the right tool. I would have killed today for a 1 inch die. One day I will have ALL the tools. And thinking about that makes me feel very content.

Wow my brother from another mother, this was your best video so far.
One day you'll sit back in your mansion in beautiful Northern Italy looking down at Laggio di Como and you will think to yourself: "man I was such a smart bro to buy myself a lathe and to polish a vise like Not Terrible Restorations did it"
See you soon 😊

This machine would have worked even if it was not polished.. but it is your creativity that made it a masterpiece before anything else.

These are some of my favorite restoration subjects. Unlocking a deadlocked vise is...interesting, to say the least.

Just when you work on a pet and I think it looks just fine, you then add a couple of more steps to make it look even better. Love the dry humor and educational value of your videos. I'm a subscriber and these just keep me mesmerized throughout the entire process.

given the tools you have and the time you spend on any given project I think it is safe to say that there is not much if any thing you can not restore in a great and timely manner ... great stuff
