Показать описание
The Canon RF 35mm f1.8 IS STM macro lens is one of the cheapest and smallest RF mount lens currently available and in this video I take a look at how it holds up on the 45 megapixel R5. Please drop any questions in the comments and as always thanks so much for watching. #RF35mmf1.8

This lens will not work on EF mount digital SLR cameras, or Canon EOS M cameras - only Canon EOS R system cameras. All sample pictures taken by me on my Canon EOS R5 camera, unless stated.

Thank you for providing one of the best reviews, not just of this lens but of anything photography-related. Almost everyone in this domain just wants to show their face and shout at the audience. Subscribe.

Dude that was really good and refreshing way to review this lens.
I was ready for another plain boring video, but I was wrong 😅.
You have some serious talent.

I was on the fence about purchasing this lens, but after your review I will definitely get it for my EOS R.

Here's my review of the Canon RF35mm f1.8 lens - one of the best value and versatile lenses on the RF system. Let me know if you want to see more lens reviews? Hoping Sigma starts making some of their great lenses for the RF mount soon. What do you think of the quality of this lens?

I like the 35 mm. And, I like the 85mm. I'm new to autofocus and digital. But I prefer 35 and 85, to 50 and 105, to work closer and for the angle-of-view.

I love this lens for its versatility, small size, light weight, and decent quality images. I noticed some chromatic aberration, but not surprising for a non-L. I decided to go with this instead of the soon to be released “nifty fifty” - to always have with me as a back-up lens, and for its large aperture. Easy to toss in my bag.

Just ordered mine. Will hopefully complement my RF 70-200 F2.8 well, for shorter focal and video.

I was thinking of upgrading from GH4 to Canon because of autofocus speed but in your test this lens performed just about as good as mine. Is there a way to speed up the autofocus if you're not too concerned about the sound coming from the lens?

Thanks for the review i am going to purchase one now for my R5 for street photography. I am told this is a sharper lens than the RF50 so fingers crossed.

Very nice review! I was considering this lens but ended up getting the 85mm f2 for the extra reach and separation. Like you said, for the price, it’s a no brainer.

Hi, I am thinking about diving into an RF system. Thinking of buying this lens and 50mm f1.8 also. Is see the lens protruding outwards of its body when focusing. Can you still mount a variable ND filter onto such a lens? I am more of a video shooter and most of the time my lenses always have a VND filter mounted. Thanks!

I wonder of this lens works with Canon RP? I don't know much about camera lens.

I have Heard this before how a lense cant cope with a high mp camera and i dont understand it.

I was watching another youtuber show eos r and r5 and couldnt see a difference so there is 15mp difference and the files are hard to notice any increase in res.

Also you hear that its all about the glass. And sensor differences are so minor in great conditions.

Id like to see at maximum magnification an RP $1000 camera with an rf 1.2 slapped on it. And an r5 with the same lense. See how much of a difference a sensor really makes. I suspect hard to tell.

If you had this 35mm 1.8 on the r5

and an L lense on the RP

im sure the r5 would be the lower res images of the two set ups
