It is insane how well these hold up. As a massive Alien fan the inaccuracies do frustrate me especially how the mouth looks but I can't deny this is a phenomenal xenomorph figure and ripley is one of hot toys best figures ever imo. I really hope they make updated versions or more characters from the franchise

I work in films for many years and had the luck to be on a meeting with Sigorney Weaver and on another meeting with Ridley Scott both just last year. I have to say Sigorney Weaver is one of the most polite, soft speaking person I ever met, and despite his age (now 86) Ridley Scott is still working hard on new films. Thanks for the toy review, the details are really amazing!

I've had my Big Chap since 2009. It fell not long after I got it and broke the ankle joints. I was gutted. Since he could not stand I put him back in the box. After seeing ALIEN Romulus I had to put him on display again. I've made him some temporary dowels for the feet and legs and he's been ob my desk since. Thank goodness for the tail. It really helps him stand up straight. Some day I am going to try some Revoltech joints. I think the ball joints are 7mm.

I LOVE BIG CHAP. Not only for his role in ALIEN but form a design point of view.

I've got Big Chap's tail curving down, touching the floor and around his left foot and on to the base. Like I said, I'm relying on the tail holding him up. So far he stands up pretty solidly.

Oh and lest I forget my figure's rubber body has held up great except for the ankle where I tried to use ca glue (superglue) on the foot and it made part of the rubber skin come apart. So now it looks like Big Chap has an ankle bracelet made of its skin. Thankfully it's not vert noticeable.

DAMN are these good!! What's interesting with figures based on old movies is that, unlike modern ones, they don't really have a proper 3D scan of the actors (or at least not one that accurately represents them as they were back in the day), so they probably have to sculpt them by hand or god knows how. While Ripley here is probably not 100% identical, the young Sigourney's likeness is absolutely there. Absolutely incredible. And Big Chap, jeez... a masterpiece. They should make a little plastic piece (kinda like when they do light powers for superheroes for example) to place around his jaw to simulate drool. That would be the 0.1% extra this figure would need for UTTER perfection.

I would definitely spend a nice bag to get that rooted. Had no idea these were made. I mainly collect SW and fantasy but Ripley is so badass, definitely one of a few sci-fi characters I’d throw in the SW display, because… why not?

These are pieces that I would love to have as well. I hope to see Hot Toys revisit these but that doesnt take away from how good these are already.

Oh man, Ripley has been one of my most sought after grails for a long time, and the sad part is I skipped out when she was in stock at sideshow ;-; maybe some day.

I just got home from seeing Romulus and then see you just uploaded this. I was thikning to my self it be cool to have a figure of the Xeno and Ridpley in my collection now i must hunt this set down if it sells anywhere.

When my venom lost its shine I used a coat of Vallejo clear gloss varnish to bring back the wet look of the symbiote, I’ll probably do the same if the black suit loses its gloss over time..
that might work if you’re feeling like it’s not glossy enough. You can buy it from good games or hobby co

Looks like you did get a good Big Chap here. Looks really good. Loved seeing the different colours on him. Ripley sure is a fantastic figure, and holding up well. Looking forward to more Aliens vids 🙂👍

THIS! THIS!! IS MY ULTIMATE DREAM FIGURE!
I ABSOLUTE LOVE Sigourney Weaver in the first 2 Alien films. My favorite woman character ever. This Ripley is my NUMBER ONE wanted figure. Hot Toys MUST release a NEW UPDATED version of this Ripley. AND, of course, Hot Toys also MUST release Ellen Ripley of Aliens WITH THE POWERLOADER UPDATED WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY AND EVERYTHING, RIGHT NOW!!! Maybe this is asking too much, but i don't care, this MUST be a release, it is simply the ultimate dream collection regarding action figure. I remember in a couple years ago Hot Toys showed a prototype of Ellen Ripley WITH the Powerloader WITH sculpted hair and everything... When I saw that I was completely in shock, however Hot Toys never really released, it ended just in a tease! COME ON, HOT TOYS, YOU MUST DO THIS NOW!!! (or any other great company, because I've been saying this for years: Hot Toys is, overall, overrated. In general they are of course the first company of realistic action figures in 1/6 scale, but they have a tendency to stay too comfortable and then release a lot of figures that focus too much on appearance and leaves articulation and quality of material too behind...)

Anyway, FINALLY you showed Alien figures of the REAL Alien film in your channel, Justin! I am jealous! Please, take care of those treasures!!

I have the original Hot Toys Hicks (MMS 003) and Ellen Ripley (MMS 22). Not quite the detail of modern Hot Toys but amazing quality.
