Objective-C iPhone Programming Tutorial - UISearchBar

I show you a basic way to use a UISearchBar to filter the contents of a UITableView. This could be expanded upon to search through a large amount of data, and support a more complex search algorithm.

On a personal note, I apologize for not making a video in a few weeks. My computer has been running sluggishly since I installed Lion. Who would have guessed?

Yes. However, with SQLite you would probably want to include the query in a SQL expression rather than searching a pre-loaded array.

Where you wrote @selector(keyboardShown:), you forgot the ':' after the name.

Thanks for a great tutorial! I noticed that when you were showing the working app at the beginning of the video, the search bar remained at the top at all times, i.e. the table was scrolling below it. But in the app you have built during the video that is not the case. How do you make the search bar stick at the top? Thanks!

It works with storyboards. You just have to make sure you control drag to the right place to wire up the views, delegates and datasource.

You have to change the search code to math against the individual keys in the dictionary.
