I took this course and a handful of others and found out unless you are going to get more accredited training or go back to school then your resources from Coursera are limited AND finding those jobs are too. This course is nice and gives you many pointers but unless you have previous experience or plan on getting more after this, then the only real route it to try to do freelance work and if all the work you have is from the course, you won’t get anywhere.

So all in all I’d say this course is useful, but as an add-on tool and I’d say that about any Google certificate course.

Will this course actually help you land an entry level job with one of the companies they say they work with? I have a fear of taking this course and wasting the money because they dont see it as enough experience to hire anyone. I have a full time low wage retail job and i dont really have the time for unpaid internships.

Okey but my question is, what should people study for e commerce and digital marketing? Collages dont the them so is it really the case? I am personally studying computer science and have a considerable knowledge of digital marketing and e commerce. And Im planning to sell my digital product through shopify and gain some experience. So isnt this more valuable to the companies when Im competing for example with a MBA student?
