The invisible load of motherhood

“Living in a constant state of high alert and running to do lists with a loud, demanding inner voice is, for me, often more exhausting than the kids themselves.
And before anyone asks - I have a very present, involved and supportive husband and co-parent.
But the load is there. The list that feels like ticking off one thing automatically adds five more on.
Somewhere along the way, I got pretty rubbish at asking for help and delegating in my personal life.
Interesting, given the ability to think critically, ditch responsibilities and thoughts that aren’t serving and delegate proactively is something I thrive at professionally.
So what is it about being a mum that makes us feel like we have to spin all the plates and juggle all the balls…while rocking the baby and making the toddler a snack?
I’m not sure I have the answer yet, but given every single one of these points are genuine items from my to do list in the last month (many still outstanding), it’s an area I’m committed to exploring and finding a way to simplify. 🧠
Can you relate?”
