Some teachers are stricter than others. I had one that wanted all of us in ballet pink tights black leotard no skirts no pants no leg warmers. Other teachers are more relaxed when it comes to that stuff. But hair, it’s universal, back and out of the face.

Yeah, I do contemporary so they aren't strict about buns (you need hair up though), however I always do a bun because when I'm doing a la secondes or leaps it always gets in the way when it's a ponytail/braid.

Not only should your hair be back, but it shouldn’t stick out too much, like only about an inch from your scalp. It also shouldn’t move if you shake your head.

My teachers don't care lol. (Recreational class at Grand Rapids Ballet) My friend always wears her hair down and tbh when I wear mine down once in a blue moon for whatever reason, I find I'm alot more expressive with my upper body right away 🤧
