there is an aftermarket software you could purchase on line that would defeat the restrictions, downloaded, connect the drone to the pc, I lost my spark at about 3, 500 feet in Mexico, very windy and bright light washout by the time I realized the drone was taken off course by over 4 miles at 3500 ft, battery die and it drown, little guy was tough to the end.

I wish it wasn't stuck at 500meter as max altitude. I live in the west where their is a lot of mountains . I was trying to film some mountain climbers but could not reach them as they were above 500 meters. The mountain was sheer cliff reaching up to more than 1, 000 plus meters. I understand while they set the limits, if not then people would be flying up to 15, 000 feet, which has been done by hackers. I would be nice if DJI had the ability to go higher in certain areas, The drone already will not fly if you are too near an airport or in a designated no fly area, for example, for two days i couldnot fly my Drone in Las Vegas as President was visiting. The entrie valley was made a temporary flight restriction zone. DJI would not allow me to even start the engines. COOL, but shows the sophistication of the DJI app.
