Local History Talks: Jacaranda Press presented by Cr George Seymour

Acting Mayor George Seymour presented a Local History Talk at the Maryborough Library on the 27th March, 2018. He spoke about four significant Queensland books published by Jacaranda Press between 1959 and 1964.
The four books to be featured are:
Queensland Wildlfowers by Kathleen McArthur (1959)
The Legends of Moonie Jarl by Wilf Reeves and Olga Miller (1964)
We Are Going by Kath Walker (1964)
Life on the Australian Seashore by Gwladys McKeon (1966)
Cr Seymour talks about the significance of their books. "Each of these four books have local connections and were from a crucial period in our history where Queenslanders were no longer looking back to England for inspiration but finding it here" Cr Seymour said.
