You are the only channel that gives actionable steps that an artist can take. The other channels are so vague and provide nothing we didn't know already. It's almost like these other guys just pull out their old marketing book from college and pull out random concepts.

One thing I think people should consider is also releasing a karaoke version as well. Its a great way to generate more buzz, and extend a popular song's stay.

For everyone new here, Jesse's channel is the real fucking deal. Best musician growth channel on youtube in my opinion. Love how you give real actionable advice, while still putting it in the perspective of an artist and leaving it up to their artistic/personal choices at the end of the day. Been following you since 2020 and have achieved so much of my personal goals in music. Can't thank you enough and hope everyone takes your words of wisdom.

Hey, I know you've been feeling disheartened with the channel underperforming compared to your hopes recently, but I just wanted to say that you have been an invaluable resource to me in my study for how to build a career. That probably doesn't mean much, since I haven't released anything yet (still working on getting my first batch of songs done) but I have notebooks (plural) filled with your advice, and I am beyond grateful that you're sharing it for free like this (with some ad rev, of course)
Also, I find the memes quite enjoyable, and I do think you're headed in the right direction for making the channel more "accessible" or whatever to the average joe.
I'll be sure to tell you when I start releasing stuff, so you can see your tactics in action (the main reason I haven't yet is because I want to do the Consistent Sustained Promotion thing, and I'm terrified of running out of songs too quick and being forced to put out subpar material, so I am finishing my entire first album and at least 6 singles before I start releasing anything)!
Keep up the good work!

You made a lot of great points which I’ve actually implemented this year with my music and fans. We’ve seen over 250% growth this year alone compared to previous years. The two things I can say that work without a shadow of a doubt is consistency and fan nurturing. Connections with fans are what keep artists relevant. The sooner people see that, the better their music journey will be.

As an artist outside of the US / EU i have found your videos to be the only ones to give actual useful advice i can use for our marketing, your content is really good, especially the longform videos where you go through peoples bio's / websites / press releases and give advice

My friends make phonk/rap music and they're independent artists. Initially they used IG and tiktok to blow up their music but nothing really helped. Later on we found out about using press articles to get attraction and tried that. Within the first few weeks, we got a lot of attraction and it helped us make real fan bases. We also got a chance to get verified on IG because of the press we released. They got featured on Lyrical lemonade which helped them grow even more! I'd recommend going for PR services if you want to cut down all the struggles of marketing your music. And as always, super informative vid Jesse!

I like the consistency of your message. You tweak it so it stays up to date, but the core message has been the same of your channel for years. Focus on the community and stay authentic, create relashionships with artists similar to you. Thanks for the great content Jesse 👍

One of THE BEST guides by far! Thanks for being real and no BS. This is helping me put together something I've never done. Having a well thought out campaign for each single I release that is actually doable and repeatable. I'm aiming for my first release in Feb.

I seriously don't know of any channel delivering so much value on these topics. Thank you.

One thing your channel helped me realize is that I was wasting my singles' potential by worrying only about the pre-release and not at all about the post-release. I'd create as much hype as I could before it came out, then release it with a music video and then just include it in my live set while hoping the people who I had already reached kept listening. Meanwhile there are many, many people who happened not to catch the pre-release and might love the song if they learned post-release about it in a way that properly communicates that it's recent, fresh material.

For my next one coming out we're putting together a much longer post-release campaign with alternate versions, online listening parties and special performances of just the new song.

This was a breath of fresh air compared to the other videos on here mane I appreciate the in-depth look into the grey areas of being social media present and how to grow a Fanbase based solely off the appeal of being yourself opposed to what the other videos tell you, you need to do to get on! I’m following you from now on Broseph!
