I’m doing this right now. God Bless you for making this video and helping me out on my freeze drying journey.

I want a freezer dryer so bad but either Santa will send me one or I will never get one. Being on a fixed income somethings you just have to dream of having. This is an awesome thing to have and to do. Nessa great job

Nessa what a great idea. Lemon juice is so difficult to freeze. Mine always gets bitter. I definitely need to start saving money for a freeze dryer

Great experiment! Yes, I bet a pinch of this goes a long way and NO, not an epic fail, imho. On the plus side, you've got 24 FD lemons that can last a LOT longer than fresh lemons. I really like your citrus juicer attachment for the mixer and your cow mixer is way cool. Thanks for sharing this with us and you have a blessed day as well. 🍋😊

I’ll bet If you used more water it would be awesome! Make a simple syrup and make some lemonade. That’s more like pure lemon juice. Also you can use it for cleaners.

I have tried the same thing with lemon juice and got the same result, then tried diluting it a lot and still got the same result. I am just getting ready to do a full load of what I call lemon mush. Its in the Freeze Drying Cookbook. I process the whole lemon (seeds, juice, pith, peel) into a mush and freeze dry, it works very well. However, so far I have used as an accent flavoring in smoothies and a replacement for lemon zest or juice in recipes. I have NOT tried lemonade but I would love to try your strawberry powder and accent it with my lemon powder for strawberry lemonade!

Just found your video. I saw someone else freeze drying peeled lemon slices, powdering them and sifting to remove the fibrous parts. It may work better for the freeze drying part. I’ll try like that. But yours worked just as good. It seems like a lot of lemon juice for very little powder but that powder is very concentrated juice. Great job!

I put my freeze dried lemons in a blender and it made a powder.

RoseRed has a great video on freeze drying lemons
She sliced and layered on the trays
Then she put them in her blender
The powder was a great color of yellow
She then put in a quart jar and vacuum sealed
I don’t know if the peel and pith made it a slight bitter taste, I can’t remember
I know that the peel and pith has great medicinal benefits
Great video❤❤❤

Watched a few weeks back when you freeze dried strawberries. I’m growing strawberries that are very favorable but don’t store or transport well. My solution is to freeze dry them. Remove the seeds along with 90% of the water and there should be 1.6 oz remaining from a pint. Add back about 14.5 oz to reconstitute a pint, add sugar, lemon zest, vanilla, a pinch of salt and/or whatever corn starch, rum etc. store these in 1.6 oz packets to keep the powder from reabsorbing water.

lemon juice is mostly acid and water so when you freeze dry the juice there will only be a crystalline powder remaining. The excess water will only delay the drying process. Sugar will counter the acid in the juice. Nothing was lost or wasted since the lemons were just condensed. using a silicon tray liner would be a game changer for this process.

Good grief that looks just like my batch this morning I used the juice of 40 lemons and don’t think I even got an ounce total…waste of time, lemons and energy…my first ever fail out of three years doing this!

I just wasted 140 lemons not thinking it wouldn't freeze dry. Didn't make a thin layer but a thick one on all 5 treys. I have 5 trays of think lemon gummy. Wow what a disappointment and waste.
