I'm a Certified Firefighter with Emergency Trauma Technician. I also volunteer with the red cross. I have a 16 channel APX4000. It is programmed for every for every fire dept in my borough. The red cross in Alaska has ham radio classes.
Maybe check with the Red Cross in your area to see if they have classes. Encourage your followers to join a great team. Most are retired military or retired from Law enforcement and fore service.

Fun fact-you can study up for General (and Extra if you want) and take multiple exams under one exam fee. I did Tech and General at the same time. 73, W0KDZ
