Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow - Destiny of the Trainer ~ Trainer Battle (SNES Remix)

The fourth of my six songs I did for SMWCentral's Summer C3 Event this year.

I'm not that big into the Pokémon games at all, but I did grow up watching the Indigo League anime a ton (still ranks as one of my favorite animes of all-time). Yes, that means I'm a Gen 1 fan, and I'm also a big fan of the trainer battle theme (especially after hearing it in both the anime and Smash Bros Melee).

Really love this cover, people don't cover simple wild or trainer battle themes enough! And hearing Pokemon sound like this feels like an alternate universe where Pokemon was a home-console franchise. Great job!!

I've been playing a bugfix ROM hack of Pokemon Blue for the past few weeks; I hadn't played Pokemon beyond 4th Gen, and I hadn't touched 1st Gen since I was a little kid. Not gonna lie, when I heard this cover walking on to and from the grocery store? I replayed it a bunch of times, daydreaming about my trainer's many ups and downs of their journey. It was that good. For the amount of thumbs ups you get, Hooded, your covers are seriously underrated. I'm eager to be a new fan. Rock on!

Ya know what would've been so cool, if it were possible? Upon inserting the games into the Super Game Boy, it'd change the soundtracks entirely to better fit the SNES capabilities. I realize that'd been a lot of extra work for the composers, and it's probably not possible on the current board, but man, it really would've given people a reason to use it even MORE.

That's the Mega Drive/Genesis sound, unless you're using the F-Zero sound then i guess that could be where I'm wrong
