I hate alcohol and haven’t drank in years. It’s toxic and an awful buzz. That said, banning it isn’t the answer. Freedom is important, and REAL education with freedom is a beautiful thing.

More of these videos need to exist. I drank for over 40 years, after work only. I considered myself fully functional and fairly successful. I quit drinking over two months ago, and ALL of my health issues which I was attributing to old age are either in full remission or have completely gone away. I was on blood pressure medication for 24 years. Now my BP is completely normal. I was on statins for cholestorol for 15 years. My dosage is cut in half and numbers are trending toward needing zero medications. I was having anger and emotional issues. My attitude has completely changed and find myself smiling for no reason at all. I have more money...probably $400/month more. My sleep..omg...I had sleep issues for years too and now I sleep LESS and feel BETTER when I wake up. My veil has been lifted. I encourage everyone to lift their veil. Try it, and if you can get past the first 30-60 days, you will be amazed.

i was a heavy weekend drinker for years, even if I've done loads of damage to myself which is irreversible I'm so glad I've now stopped, in my 3rd year of alcohol free and my life is infinitely better than before

My Mum was brought up not to drink but my Dad would get black out drunk every week end like everyone else in his town when growing up (at 14 he needed to get his stomach pumped because he drank too much and passed out in the street) When he met my Mum at 30 he gave up drinking completely. He's 62 now and hasn't drank since and his health and fitness is fantastic for his age. I'm really thankful that I was brought up not to drink alcohol, I'm 29 and I've never had a full glass of wine or a can of beer in my life

For many years, I was CONVINCED I had undiagnosed ADD/ADHD. I was a relatively heavy drinker, basically a functional alcoholic. Almost always I would have a few beers after work. It was just a part of my daily routine from about age 19 to 30. I didn't think having 2 or 3 beers a day was that big of a deal. I wasn't getting wasted, black out drunk or anything right?
That was until a friend of mine challenged me to do Dry January to prove to him I didn't have a problem. This was a month that changed me forever. The first 2 weeks was kind of awful, but then WOW. My short term memory came back, I was sharper, my brain fog went away, I had WAY more energy. It was a big wake up call. Daily drinking was robbing me of my full potential. Dry January turned into a dry life.
I haven't had a drink for nearly a full year and everything about my life, inside and out has changed for the better. Oh and the beer gut is gone, lost nearly 30lbs. Booze just isn't worth it.

I stopped drinking at 22 years old…I’m now 43 and pretty happy about that decision 😊

Alcohol is so toxic. It's so obvious but so many people don't see it.

Sleep is what finally got me to quit. I was trying to take a month off from drinking, and by the third week I was sleeping like a baby every night. Better than I had in twenty years. I felt so good, I just couldn’t go back. Then I lost a pound a week for the first three months. I feel ten years younger and that’s the only change I made. And I wasn’t even drinking that much, maybe 1-2 a day.

At age 69 I could not begin to estimate how many beers I have drank since I was 16. Thousands, many thousands. I still drink 2-3 beers a night but this video has me thinking about dropping the alcohol all together. It really does not do much for me now except damage my health. Thanks for this👍

meditate on why you crave alcohol. think about it.

then, associate alcohol with feeling sick. I now even think about booze and think about being hungover and feeling sluggish. It took me over a year to train my brain like this.

It was banned during prohibition but it made many criminals rich

I haven't had a drink since the 80's. But banning alcohol was tried and ended up causing more trouble than the horrible effects of alcohol. Prohibition was a disaster in so many ways.

Loved this video. As a former light to moderate drinker, I would love to see Thomas do a video on how (if at all) one can reverse the effect of 30 years of alcohol consumption.

I really appreciate this video, Thomas. You have a great way of encouraging without shaming. It's inspiring. Thank you!

I quit drinking shortly after I turned 21. Because I knew the path of physical fitness was gonna take me so much further in life. 12 years later. Now i'm in my thirties and it's made all the difference in the world.

I wasted a god 15 years of my life drinking. I grew up in a small Midwest area where drinking was normalized and everyone drank around us when we were growing up. So when we got in high school everyone drank. That’s all we did on the weekends.

It becomes such a normal part of your routine you don’t realize your slowly becoming an addict. Then in my 20s I was living in the south in Corpus Christi and that’s all everyone did there. So I honestly thought it was just how life was.

Next thing I knew I was 25-26yo drinking from sun up to sun down as if it was no big deal. I was drinking 30 beers a day. Then at 32 I switched to rum and was drinking 20-25 shots a day.

I was literally dying and my muscles shrunk, I was constantly in pain and couldn’t eat. I started weaning myself off to quit and eventually started having hallucinations and eventually I cut back so much I had a seizure.

I’ll be a year sober March 8th off this year. The detoxification lasted months and it was horrible. I was convinced I was going to die like my father did from drinking in 2018.

Now I’m playing hockey again and within 5 months made a minor pro roller team and semi pro ice team and now preparing to play pro in Europe.

If I never drank and just kept playing Hockey there’s no doubt in my mind I’d be in the NHL right now.

Stop drinking asap and your love will get way better I promise and guarantee that.

That's why I listen to your channel. I am trying to heal my body after years of drinking. And it really does tear up your body. Everything from heart problems, dehydration, high hemoglobin, and feeling like crap all the time. I'm a poster child for this .

There should be more videos like this and they should be shown on TV instead of advertisements, especially since later childhood so that people are informed before they try alcohol or start drinking it on a regular basis because it's "fun". Alcohol is the only drug one always has to explain not using. It's so deeply embedded in all societies around the globe that one must always have some vice, some addiction, alcohol being one of them. As humans with cognitive ability, we should use our brain to make decisions that promote our health and wellbeing and not destroy it. Kids should hear it from early childhood, that would certainly limit the number of people abusing alcohol and thinking that it helps them cope with stress, sleep, socialise, enjoy their food better, bla bla bla.

How do you explain Italy and France. In Italy they drink wine at lunch and dinner but they don’t drink to get drunk. They also have the highest elderly population into there 90’s with less dementia. I from Italy, They are eat better and walk more with no added gluten in there foods or chemicals in there wine.

I am 27 and I have drank beer and wine ( rarely in some social situations where I feel forced to ) . Nowadays I stopped doing that too as I never really enjoyed alcohol. Whenever someone proposes me alcohol I decline and go for a non alcoholic alternative and water in the worst case . It’s a shame that many of us feel forced to drink alcohol just to fit in :(
