The Criminal This American Western from 1976 is called Josey Wales. It takes place during and after the American Civil War. And Clint Eastwood acted in it as Josey Wales. Chief Dan George, Sondra Locke, Bill McKinney, and John Vernon were also in it.A Missouri farmer named Josey Wales had his family killed by Union troops during the Civil War. The movie tells his story. Wales joins a Confederate military group because he wants to get even, and he becomes known as a dangerous gunfighter. Except for Wales, everyone in his group of fighters gives up to Union troops after the war, but the Confederates are killed. Wales transforms into a criminal as he tries to start over, drawing the attention of Union forces and rewarding hunters.
