I stayed off the internet when diagnosed stage 4 lung, liver, kidney, spine both shoulders and left hip 2/9/2015. I am in year 7.5. If your reading this there is hope. Her words are genuine and she speaks her truth. Walk in faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

I met Jen when I was backpacking in Thailand in 2007. We had some amazing times together - she was a truly wonderful, unique woman and I was devastated to learn of her passing a few years ago. Today would have been her 50th birthday ❤️

I’m sorry to learn you passed away in 2017 Jen.
Your blog (and therefore your words) will live on.
Reading on how much you loved doing this Ted talk (and the pain it took) makes you a winner… with a smile on your face and song in your heart.
Your light will be sadly missed. My condolences to all who knew and loved you.

Wish I had the same fighting spirit you had...having lost my son, his wife and his best friend in an accident in Dallas in February, 2020. Still, I have to keep on living and fighting...like you did.

Sadly I just learned she passed away, but at least she lived a vibrant life full of happy moments and lots of love, ❤️

Thank you.. I really needed this lesson. I have been so angry having cancer and so mean at times to those who don’t deserve it.. now I see I need to embrace them because I don’t know how long I might have

This speech was 4 years ago. Yet until today, you are a huge inspiration!
I really hope that you made it! I pray that as you wished....no one really caught you dying... BECAUSE YOU ARE COMPLETELY HEALED NOW!!

With great respect I just wonder why we fear death so much and see it as an enemy. It comes to all.of us .My sister refused to accept her stage 4 cancer diagnosis as a death sentence till the end .Cant we do what we can to heal but also accept at some point we leave so maybe it's ok to embrace it at some point

Cancer is not the only terminal illness we can meet. Dementia is another and Lewy Body Dementia has a shorter road than others. Before a span of 5-7 yrs are up. Before dieing one loses one's self and some indignities may be benchmarks ( temper tantrums, crying jags, hallucinations, delusions etc.). After listening to this young woman I've determined to perhaps blog lessons and realities about the road signs on my highway. At least until I cease "being" who I am. Maybe it will be of help to someone on this path, because this young woman has been an inspiration to me.
