I operate a simple rule.

If I see a company advertising heavily on the YouTube content I consume regularly, I'm not interested.

Haven’t heard a single male nutritionist talk about the importance of a vaginal birth and breastfeeding to start a healthy gut flora. Kudos! You’ve earned a subscription!

This video is incredibly well put together and backed by science. I'm glad you're not afraid to speak up about this and show people that they're getting basically an expensive multivitamin.

This confirms my suspicions. I’m so glad I held out. They “almost” had me but I decided to look further into it before making such a huge commitment. Thanks for sharing. *sidenote: it’s insane how much these guys are making off this. Marketing doesn’t equal quality though.

Finally! A detailed analysis of AG1. Thank you! I took AG1 for about a year before my skepticism took over. I just couldn't get over the fact that the amounts of the ingredients were not listed. And when I learned how much of the cost is really just going to social media influencers, I quit. This video validates that I made a good decision.

I have been looking for an honest and knowledgeable review on AG for 2 years. So glad I have not purchased. No magic pill. It always comes back to just eating whole, healthy foods. Thank you so much for this!

very interesting, great vid. as with most of these social media-focused supplements, i’ve been simultaneously intrigued by AG1’s benefits and concerned by the language in their ad-reads (of which there are, like you said, so many). i’m all for people spending their money on something if they think it’s improving their health, but a lot of the time being healthy is not as simple as taking some magic powder that your favorite podcast is selling you.

This was fantastic, thank you so much. I was a paying AG1 customer for 5+ years and recently stopped because the cost just seemed unnecessary. I really miss drinking it, but this video made me realize I could just have a green juice in the morning to get that same placebo effect, since I take vitamins and supplements throughout the day.

Great coverage on this topic. I used AG1 for about 7 months and it seemed to help me quite a bit, at that time I had a pretty poor diet and was generally lazy with eating. Probably any good multi-vitamin would have been beneficial but I choose that one and don't have any regrets. While taking it and having generally positive results I did some supplemental reading on nutrients and general nutrition and eventually stopped taking AG1 earlier this year when I finally got more motivated to eat better and not be a slug.

Thank you for the video!! I have used AG1 for more than a year to help me with some digestive problems. However after self reflecting, I think my cure was adding more fiber back into my diet and realizing I was partially lactose intolerant in the last few years as Im growing older (59). I recently suspended my subscription to AG1 as I'm reevaluating my monthly spending as my son is starting college. This video answers the real questions I had about AG1!! Thank you!

Here are the key takeaways from the video on Athletic Greens (AG1):

1. AG1 is a popular health supplement heavily promoted by many podcasters and influencers.

2. The video creator, Adam McDonald, is a performance nutritionist who analyzed AG1's ingredients and dosages based on scientific evidence.

3. AG1 contains a good range of vitamins and minerals, making it a decent multivitamin substitute.

4. The probiotic content in AG1 is highlighted as a selling point, but the effectiveness of probiotics in healthy individuals is questionable according to current research.

5. Prebiotics (fiber from fruits and vegetables) are considered more beneficial for gut health than probiotic supplements.

6. AG1 uses a proprietary blend, which makes it difficult to determine the exact quantities of each ingredient.

7. Based on the FDA labeling rules and the order of ingredients listed, many of the supplements in AG1 are likely underdosed and may not provide significant benefits.

8. The video suggests that the effectiveness of many ingredients in AG1 for healthy individuals is limited, even at proper dosages.

9. The creator speculates that the popularity of AG1 among podcasters might be due to lack of nutrition expertise and financial incentives (30% commission for affiliates).

10. While AG1 is probably not harmful, its benefits may be neutral to very modest, and the claims made by the company are considered unsubstantiated by the video creator.

11. The video suggests that consumers should be clear about their health goals and how to measure progress when starting any new health, fitness, or supplement regimen.

12. The creator advises viewers to be cautious of "silly games" in health and fitness, implying that AG1 might not be the solution to all health problems as it's sometimes portrayed.

My suspicions regarding the dosage are confirmed and much worse than I thought. Thanks for the thorough breakdown
