As much as I love the data over dogma, I think Dan needs to make shirts with "Alright, let's see it" on the front, and "That's pure and utter nonsense" on the back.

I love how many of these conspiracies seem to rely wholly on people taking a dude at his word presumably because he has a modestly deep voice and an English accent.

One of the things I find interesting about these conspiracies is they all seem to rely on an idea that the Catholic Church has basically had full control of Christian scripture for the last like 2000 years. Like this conspiracy is post-reformation.

I wish content creators with any interest in these topics would use that to read, research and learn. But I think viewers to Dan’s channel are aware of the deluge of this low effort click bait stuff - but which spreads and affects the minds of others who think it must be true! So big thanks to Dr Dan, this stuff really matters!

so many Protestants mad at the Catholic Church because other Protestants took stuff out of the bible

Fantastic analysis. Loving your channel.

You always know you're looking at a trustworthy source when it's captioned with "Wubba lubba dub dub".

It's probably a channel that got an AI to make a script and another to voice it to get metrics on some platform.

If you're Catholic, don't think for a second that the Evangelicals consider themselves on your side. Think about that in November.

Thank you sir for your correction of these lies. Surely God almighty himself, inspires your thoughts and ministry

it seems there's nothing so Christian as criticising others for something you did.

The Oxford Bibles that were given out on to Confirmants in the New Apostolic Church had the King James Apocrypha's fourteen books. I still have the one I received 48 years ago.

More recently, I was able to buy 2 versions of the New Oxford Annotated Bible that had an even more comprehensive collection of apocryphal books by including English translations of books found in various Eastern Orthodox canons besides those included in either Roman Catholic or Protestant Canons. I also purchased a Harper-Collins study Bible which also included a more extensive Apocrypha, for example a third and fourth book of Maccabees and Psalm 151.

These purchases were made at large chain bookstores such as Barnes and Nobles about 20 to 30 years ago. Sadly these more inclusive Bibles with their scholarly prefaces, annotations, and explanatory chapters are no longer available off the shelf in such stores in the USA and Canada. The majority of Bibles to be found in these types of stores are now evangelical publications with only the Old and New Testaments and a distinctly conservative Protestant bias to any commentary added to the text.

Sir, I am watching your videos and having a hoot enjoying them. Your humour is dry like the Valley of Death, and in combination with your acute scholarship, you are not someone to be taken lightly! Bravo!!!! 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Hmm. What you said makes sense, Dan, but I’m troubled that you didn’t acknowledge the narrator’s British accent. That’s got to count for some credibility.

Wow! How can anyone get so much wrong?

Loving these matter of fact videos but it would be good to have a reference for the videos that you debunk, stating who released them and where they may be found.

What an amazing video this may or may not have saved me years of confusion

I’m not sure I can thoroughly agree with this, because of all the many translations circulating could make sense. Tindale, was against the authority of the pope’s position and rule of the church, but rather submitted to authority of scripture. The Roman Catholic Church made it a criminal offense, to be in possession of a Bible. Which was punishable by death, so one could conclude they tempered with or omitted books from the text of scripture.

The Roman church set up its own rule and authority, as a religious institution not the “Great Commission of Christ!”

The Wycliffe Bible has 77 books the Protestant Bible, doesn’t have the other books nor does the king James…why? Great question. The Ethiopian Orthodox Bible contains 88 books of reference, so you appear to have this western scholarly view of theology. That has blinded many in the possible of this whole canonical quest!

The trusted word of God can be found in the inerrant Bible ... Christians just can't decide on which one.

It always more convincing when the narrator speaks in an exaggerated English accent.
