Experienced OSM contributors have headaches because such videos teach newbies how to do edits, and teach them wrong, the first thing to do before any edits is to line up satellite imagery used with actual GPS tracks, and only then proceed to tracing buildings, lakes, roads etc.

I couldn't find a way to add a city name to OpenStreet map anywhere, nor in this video. Can you pls guide?
E.g. there is a city named 'Patiala' (even shows on OSMaps), but when we search for it in the OSMaps, its not found.
How can we add a full city boundary, when it requires us to zoom at very high level to make any edits?

I have edited and named an area in Evosmos (Thessaloniki-Greece) as Kato Ilioupoli (Κατω Ηλιουπολη).However this change and edit I did it never appears in the map.. its like I never did this edit.. can anyone help me?

I'm trying to draw a newly created legislative district, and I'm having a hard time editing the area because it's much larger than a 4 points. It's an area of several square kilometers and uses dozens of individual points. I need to go back and edit the drawing and can't figure out how to do so

Does this have any sort of interaction with the info displayed in Google Maps? Otherwise, are these databases available for the public through any app or website?
I'm asking because my university is holding a mapping event and all or most of the area streets are already there in Google Maps, so what would be the improvement, just adding the buildings?
