I work below wing for a major airline.

Tip #11 bring Lysol wipes. Most planes turn around extremely quickly, and we don't have time to clean everything. So bring those wipes to clean that arm rest and tray table.

Tip #12. In your personal item, keep all your electronics, passports and other documents in that bag. Because there may be a time where the gate agent needs you to check your carry on bag. And sometimes this happens while you're waiting in line. So instead of trying to find move stuff around it's already ready to go. Because once the ramp agent takes your bag it's not getting back to you unless you want to re-screen your bag all over again with security.

Carry a back up battery charger so you can charge your phone! If there is an emergency at the airport and flights are halted, you'll be competing with 1, 000 people to use the airport chargers!

Having a spare, small dop kit in your backpack is key. I have a small Tumi hard case I use, but I also have used a cloth Pencil Bag too.
Some items included are: Sanitizer/wipes, advil, tums, face wipes, mini toothbrush, tooth paste, mini spray deodorant, earbuds, eyemask, etc. This kit has saved me so many times..

Booking an early-morning flight is a good idea but there are exceptions to this rule. Morning flights are often delayed at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) due to fog.

I always take the free earphones when available even if I have a good headset because I like to keep a few pairs stuffed into my carry-on, as on several occasions, a kid forgot their headphones and was having a meltdown in the terminal going through security and it saved the day for the kid and the parents, and also is good free PR for the airline that gave them out.

The extra underwear tip -SO true! Learned it the hard way, getting stranded by weather without our luggage. I would add a warm pair of socks, all seasons. We got stuck in August, and we’re all in sandals. The air conditioning was freezing! I always carry a wrap, a pr. of socks, underwear and basic meds/hygiene and snacks.

Make a copy of your travel docs and passport and keep them in a different bag from the originals.
Don't wear lace up shoes its a pain to re tie them after security. Put your toilet bag in your carry on, along with your change of underwear, then you can manage for 24h till they find your luggage.

My grandma always said to pack your bathing suit in your carry on. It gives you essentially another pair of underwear/bra AND if you are at a resort it is pretty much all you need.

Thanks for the sunscreen tip Kat! I always put it on everyday, but never occurred to me to put it on when I am flying! Also make sure to pack face moisturizer (and other skin care needs) and hand cream in your carry-on to use both in the airport and on the plane especially on a long-haul (that dry airplane air is terrible for your skin!) I picked up some small one ounce containers and put some skin care products in them, they are great for sticking in my liquids bag!

Even better than setting an alarm, set a Calendar Event for your flight with Gate information and link to the map with an reminder 15 minutes before boarding starts.

As Travel Agents we can say these are amazing tips. When you want travel advice, flight attendants often have the best because they travel the most.

First thing I do after checking in is find my gate, then I just stay close enough that I can either hear the boarding call or see the activity around the gate. Keeping track of boarding times is especially important now that a lot of airports no longer do general boarding announcements.

Two things: the tile square tip is genius. Second, I am going to order one of those hooks. Thank you for this video.
