If I can make a suggestion, put a piece of cardboard or a blocking mat under where you're running your scissors. That way you won't accidentally cut a float, and you can work a nice, straight line. Safety scissors are also a good option.

do you think it's okay to steek the cast on row?I'm making a hat and the bottom part (cast on)form a tight line and feels uncomfortable.

What if you have a pullover that you bought in a store but think it would look better as a cardigan. Can it be steeked?
