I actually saw one of these in the wild. It was so incongruous because I was in a very low rent neighborhood and the Karma still had dealer tags.

It is beautiful. I'll give them that.

The name of the car says it all. Karma is what you get for buying a car like this.

Some are saying that consumer reports is funded from US Tax Dollars... NO - Consumer Reports accepts no advertising or corporate contributions. We purchase everything we test at retail prices. Your contributions enable us to maintain that impeccable integrity. Go to their website for more info.

@JimBites Brilliant and apt analogy! And I'd like to add: we're not really sure where it was made (born).

You need to do some fact checking!
1. The taxpayer money is a loan, so they'll be payed back (just like the loans to the Detroit companies one of which is now partly Italian).
2. Fisker did not open a factory in Finland. Fisker is paying to have the Karma assembled at a car factory in Finland that builds cars for different car makers (most of what they do is to assemble Porsches).
3. There was no way for Fisker to have the same done in the US.
4. Fisker is still planing to run a US plant.

My 1989 Silverado has never let me down. I only get about 18 MPG (350 V8) but $100, 000.00 worth of gas (vs. ownership of this thing) would last me a proverbial life time.

Tom Mutchler does not give a shit. He is the Chuck Norris of automotive engineers. He will tell it like it is. This is why I love Consumer Reports.

@LanceCampeau No this is not a publicity stunt to discredit electric cars. The more complicated cars get the more can go wrong (and usually does). My hope is they work the bugs out and get this new car on the road. It looks awesome.

Our government gave Fisker money to build this car or was it a loan to them?
