Our Cheap Fisker Karma Already Broke... Needs New BATTERY PACK?

Well, that was quick, our cheap Fisker Karma already has some issues with a check engine light. We bought this rare exotic hybrid dirt cheap at salvage auction, so it was by far the cheapest in the USA. Only $16,200 for a car that was once over $100,000. Looks like the codes are showing it needs a new hybrid battery pack?? That sounds expensive, can we fix it? It's 1 of 2,500 made, so this is definitely one of the craziest sedans money can buy, we tons of funny reactions while driving.

Could it be related to the broken cells on the roof? Maybe that's what it's saying to replace.

Maybe that's why the original battery was replaced the first time. It's throwing a false code.

There is a black plug on top of the front right wheel under the hood. Disconnect and wait for 1 minute then reconnect. It will reboot the whole system and should take care of it.

I think it would be cool to make a comparison between the Fisker Karma and the Karma Revero and tell/see the differences

Maybe it’s a code from when they replaced the battery last time? Might not have synced it fully when they installed it.

Karma LLC will probably still service fiskers at their factory if you ask them nicely they are located in moreno valley Ca. I've been here and they are really nice. they will also give you a goodie

You can't clear the Battery ECM code without the Fisker scan tool. YOu can try unplugging the battery and doing a hard reset on the car but more then likely you have a dropped cell. Did you recently run the battery down to near zero charge? If so that probably did it. You should never let the battery go below 20%. Ty to keep it between 20%-80% charge. You can just replace the bad cell but like I said you need the special scan tool to find out which on to replace.

Its probably your coupler, which happen when the engine light is on but you an still run it on the battery. Heres a test try using the engine and if it doesn't come on its your coupler. Do a reset and wait 5 minutes
