About Counter-Strike: Global Offensive:
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) expands upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 19 years ago.

"Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999," said Doug Lombardi at Valve. "For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS' award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac."

The CS:GO esports scene is one of the biggest and most popular of them all, and have been for over 20 years! For CS:GO, BLAST Premier are dedicated to bringing you the most exciting and enjoyable viewing experience that the pro Counter Strike scene has to offer! 💥

The thing I like more about old games is that the "moving around" feels better. It feels much more smooth and "light" compared to some later games. Other than that I think nostalgia is a big factor for favorism.

CSGO was straight up just bad when it came out, I remember the hitboxes being absolutely broken for a looong time and the game being clunky in general, crazy how much it changed since the release

I played professionally in 1.5 and 1.6. I thought the same when Source came out. A lot of us was torn between the two and it screwed up the community.

AS someone who played 1.6 and GO a lot, GO movement is more clunky, recoils aren't as intuitive and it feels like there's less visual clarity but you have more options for strategy, guns and growth. In the end, they are differently nuanced games so you can't really say one is better than the other and i like them both but if i had to choose one, it would be 1.6 because it has a level of satisfaction GO doesn't but 1.6 is never getting update and GO is so that might very well change. Go has come a long way since release

Nowadays what I would change about csgo is make agent skins only visible to teammates.

I must be one of the few who can't get into csgo no matter how hard I try. The movement feels too slow for me and the weapons sound like toys. My favourite has always been 1.6 because of the faster movement pace and I felt it was way more satisfying getting kills in that game. From a competitive aspect I can understand why csgo would be better, but for fun it just doesn't hit the same.

I feel like I agree with most of their statements, but I dont think you can ignore the fact that CS has never been the same without wallbanging. CSS and CSGO are so much more forgiving when it comes to overly aggressive plays. And I believe thats still one point thats missing from CSGO to make it truly perfect. (And dont give me the "but you cant shoot through 5m of bricks" argument, obviously you could still fine tune it...)

Yo looking at these old clips from cs go. Looks more realistic than cs go today. Unpopular opinion, many of cs go maps looked better than the reworked ones. Inferno, Dust 2, etc. Just the looks though

Yes 1.6 was better and they shouldve taken way more things from it instead of CSS

I would still rather play 1.6 all day than GO, almost all gamemodes I used to/still play on 1.6 are just superior there with the only exception being surf(this also has an exception - maps like ss2, green and other ones like that). Players in 1.6 were far more creative with how they played. Don't tell me "it's all just nostalgia" because I still play 1.6 and I'm addicted, especially to basebuilder :d

Also does anyone remember the old furien game mode? That shit was fire. Whoever came up with that ct vs predator thing is a legend.

CS:GO would be better if there was an active Diablo or WC3 mod server :(

1.6 more nostalgia and revolutionary, GO more dumb fun w/skins and more recent. Both amazing in their own rights.

CS:GO is just too real and too complicated to play, while CS 1.6 is old, simple but better
