With the advancement in technology, our basic understanding of space and the worlds that lie beyond our planet has completely shifted. In the past couple of years NASA has discovered over 4000 exoplanets in all shapes, sizes, orbital distances and characteristics through its Kepler mission giving birth to a whole new branch of study , dedicated to exoplanets.

Would you choose to be one of the first people to live on Kepler-452b?

How can you say better when the earth is all you, me and everyone has ever existed on?

Kepler-452b has a radius 1.5 times that of Earth and 5 times its mass. So roughly 2 g of gravity at the surface, too high. It also receives more energy from its parent star and if the atmospheric composition is remotely like ours there's a significant probability of a runaway greenhouse effect occurring by now (i.e. an environment resembling the hellish conditions on Venus). It's also about 1800 light years away - so you better have warp drive if you want to make the trip in any sane length of time.

So, if I weigh 170 lbs on earth, and we find a planet twice the mass, would I not weigh 340 lbs there? Also, assuming the atmospheric composition is the same, would that planet also have twice the air pressure? The planet might be suitable for life, maybe not human from earth life.

One of the ways to populate these planets would be to create a biosphere by sending robots ahead of humans and remotely teraforming the planet from a distance using AI.
Next we can send male sperm and ova or zygotes that will conceive humans through remotely controlled labs on the planets surface.
And though humans may not be able to survive such long distances, our seed definitely can.
Just a thought.

Let hope that humans never get there so that it will stay perfect s it is without people that will just destroy it just to profit from it let's hope we never get there ever

Word on the street is we have about 4 or so years and we will be co-inhabitants on earth with some others. There are millions of civilizations in this universe. Millions. Theyve been comming here ever since they could get here. Theres goldilox planets everywhere. Aint that big a deal. Its not all just random chance, there is an energetic order and even a divinity as well.

God put us on this planet this far away from other planets for a reason I think we need to leave everything else alone and stay where he put us!!!!

Does it have a balanced budget and secure border. Yep. That would be better than earth

Not possible. Earth is the center of the universe and is the finest planet.

We should limit our search to Milky Way, and be within lets say 200 years of travel at maximum speed of todays ships. Just trying to keep it real. Yes, finding life 1, 000 + light years away would be exciting, but it would take 1, 000+ years to say hello, and then another 1, 000 years for them to say hi back - 2, 000+ year round trip. Not a good conversation. If we are looking for a new home for humans, then we need to find Earth 2.0 within the distance our present ships can travel in a single human life - just trying to be realistic. Let us spend our limited resources on finding something we have a chance/probability of visiting.

Only reason its better than earth is because it doesnt have almost 8 billion people on it

Many more worlds will be discoveted later. God said in Moses, Pearl of Great Price, Book of Mormon, "worlds without number have I created; and as one earth passes away so does another come."

What can you say?
