Barcelona is truly magical. One thing i suggest is avoiding the beach in barcelona, which gets very crowded in july-august, hop on a train and head north for like 30min or so, any town is great, they are all beautiful (some more than others). And if you want the best beaches of catalonia, go to costa brava, which is a bit further north from barcelona. Have a laid back day, have local food in a restaurant in front of the sea, and a couple of beers or sangrias. The train is very cheap in spain.

I appreciate your comments on being respectful to the locals:) i personally never are in barcelona in the summer months, our city gets taken over by tourists😜

If you are reading this and going to barcelona soon, definitely try to be in barcelona on the 23rd of April!! It is st Jordi's day (the patron of catalonia) and the streets are filled with book stands and rose stands, i really recommend going there on this day. Have a stroll down las ramblas or even better in la rambla de catalunya a, and buy a rose to your beloved one (this day is our version of valentines day).

Lastly, try and learn a couple of catalan words, i get very happy when tourists try to talk in catalan, not spanish, even if they arent good at it. Just saying things like bona nit (good night) bon dia (good morning) gràcies (thank you) de res (you're welcome) etc.

I hope you like my city!

I travelled to Barcelona all the way from India to watch Fc Barcelona play at the Camp Nou. It was a dream come true. Singing the club anthem with the locals in Catalan and then watching the team thrash the opponents 6-1, with goals from Messi, Neymar, Suarez and Rakitic was something I had only dreamt of until then. I spent the rest of the week exploring the historical, cultural and gastronomical aspects of the city which are abundant. It was the best week of my life.

As someone who has been born and raised in Barcelona, it made me so happy to see you talking about the problem we have with the tourists... really, here's so many people who leave their manners at home when they travel here. Thank you.
Visca Catalunya!

Six years old, and still the perfect video to send to my boys ages 19 and 20 before I take them to Barcelona for the first time!

I lived in Barcelona for a month last year & 100% fell in love with the city. My biggest tip would just be to walk around without a map and no particular destination in mind. If you're into street art just walk through Gracia or walk into one of the small streets at the right side of the Ramblas. And eat lots of Paella. If you feel like ice cream buy it in the supermarkets not trucks on the streets as it is a lot cheaper. Oh also for breakfast (or at any time of the day really) try chocolate pastries from the bakeries, they are super delicious and very cheap

I visited Barcelona for just one day on my whirlwind tour of europe and Barcelona was by far my most favorite stop. The thing that tipped the scales was my private motorcycle sidecar tour of the city by brightside tours. The most cool thing about this amazing tour was i was traveling with my 2 adult daughters who rode together on a second motorcycle with their own guide. The helmets had a communcation system connected to the driver so even though we travelled together to the same locations, they got a completely different perspective based on their interests and conversations with their driver. During our 2-1/2 hour customized tour of the city, we visited the ramblas, the gothic section, the familia, the olympic park, and the gaudi house (sorry its been a few years, so the exact names escape me).
The (2) tours were very affordable and well worth the expense because we were able to see so much more of the city and learn about the history, culture, architecture, and current events. Something we would not have been able to do bumbling around in traffic using a gps and a guidebook. The other thing I loved, and learned from my guide is the weather is always perfect with only 3 or 4 days per year of less than exceptional weather. So chances are, whenever you visit, the weather is going to be as beautiful as the city itself.

You guys have shown the spirit of Barcelona like it deserves! Not like Devin Supertramp in their last video full of spanish topics and flags that don't represent our culture. You rock!!

Thanks so much for bringing up the concerns that citizens of Barcelona are having with some of douchebag tourists. For the most part, tourists are respectful and they're an important factor in Barcelona's economy. Learn the culture, learn the history and have respect. You two are the most conscientious of the issues and history of this beautiful city I call home. Thanks!

I'm really glad you guys mentioned the importance of being respectful as a foreigner! As an American who travels, I've come across several European natives who expect me to be loud and rude like many other American tourists they have seen. Don't perpetuate the stereotype!

Hi guys! I have to admit that I really love how you end your video. I'm not from BCN but I have been living here for more than 10 years and I work at Travel Industry. And is really true what you mention. People here are a bit frustrated about tourism and this "tip" surprise me in a good way. Like and share! ✌🏻 Peace!
