I went on my first solo trip to Seattle a few weeks ago and it was one of the best experiences despite being so anxious!! Traveling solo is definitely intimidating but its so liberating.

Might I also suggest a ferry to Bainbridge Island. It's a 35 minute trip (you pay one fare, the return is included) with magnificent views of Seattle and the skyline. Also on the island is the Bloedel Estate. It's a lovely park-like setting with amazing flowers and trees. The walk around the gardens is about two hours of peace, quiet and beautiful flowers, shrubs and a moss garden. Lovely, and very much worth a visit.

You really should have tried the ferry to Bainbridge Island instead of the water taxi to West Seattle. The little town of Winslow has a lot to offer.

Driving 25 miles out to Everett to see the Boeing Future of Flight Factory Tour is so worth it! The place is mind bogglingly HUGE, and you get to see them build the 747, 767, 777, and the 787 airplanes. Tickets are $38 for adults; $33 for seniors. Open Thursday- Mondays from 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

I wish I had seen your video before I went to Seattle! I can’t believe I missed that fabulous REI store and gorgeous Amazon campus. Some of the spots you show are terrific for families with tweens and teens who appreciate great photo spots and unusual places. You pack a lot in which helps us do the same.

I used to live in Seattle but moved when the company I worked for closed their Seattle property. The place that is referred to as the original Starbucks isn’t the original. The original Starbucks was located on Western Ave. This location closed after a fire and the second location opened and is now being called the original Starbucks. I used to buy my roasted coffee beans at the real original store.
