Ekaterinburg 1918: Inside of the Ipatiev house. White army celebrations of taking of Ekaterinburg.

Ekaterinburg, 1918. The Whites enter the capital city of the Red Ural, and head over to the Ipatiev house, also known as "the House of Special Purpose". But they find it empty, there is no sign of the eleven people who lived there for the last few months.

In this video, you will see the very rare footage filmed after the murders of the imperial family - the rooms of the house where they lived from April to July of 1918, including the cellar- the last room the prisoners entered alive.

You will also get to watch the celebrations of the White army's taking of Ekaterinburg... albeit too late to save their imperial family.

I wasn't prepared for my tears when I saw the basement room in the Ipateiv House...I wonder what the White Army soldier's that went inside after the family were murdered felt seeing the IF belongings and furniture ripped and damaged...and then when they saw that basement room ? It's awful watching this, knowing the Romanovs were in there, knowing they were alive...and knowing what was coming. It makes me wish I could leap through the computer, back in time, and change things, but of course, that's not possible. I absolutely hate what happened to them and wish it had been different. I'm not even Russian and it's painful.

Remarkable footage! Reminds me of the countless of photos and movies of Nicholas doing the same, as in attending religious ceremonies with troops and military reviews, but how different the circumstances! This shows White troops in snow, so it must well after the recapture of the town, which was just days after the family's murder in July. Perhaps the film was made to mark arrival of further troops months later? Also one of the gentlemen in charge, seems to be wearing a French uniform.
