Samsung Soundbar reset ARC not working fix

If the ARC connection to your TV has stopped working try reinitialising your soundbar. It is often the solution. (Update): The Soundbar May not reset if it is connected to a TV. Try unplugging all but the mains cable if your soundbar doesn’t reset.

awesome! Worked for me on my hw-k850. I don’t know why it stopped giving me ARC. My tv wouldn’t recognize that it could utilize the sound bar as an audio output, it would only show as source. Following these steps helped out a lot, my sound bar is working perfect again.

Dude thanks I appreciate it. I have the ms750 and shop4 display kept showing up and the sound kept going back to 50 after a couple of min. I called Samsung they said I can't factory reset it and I would have to send it in. But after doing holding down settings key for 15 sec it put it back to home use and its working now. they sold me a display model and I didn't know it.

THANK YOU! I bought a Q900T soundbar from Best Buy and it was a floor display. The volume would randomly go from whatever setting to 30 with no reason as to why.. This fixed the issue!

My remote is a little bit different but i have pressed every button i found for 5-6 seconds and finally the TV ARC is working again now. I have unplugged all the cables from the soundbar, except the power cord, and than reset it. Then i power off the soundbar, i connected the HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC PORT on tv (in my case hdmi2), i power on the tv and then the soundbar. Until this reset, i have tried everything, even a tv reset, but the display on the sound bar indicate only D.IN and not TV ARC - which work fine until one day. Now the TV ARC is back on duty ! I have an HW-K450/EN.

This worked like a complete charm. Thank you! Don't know why this simple fix is not mentioned in any kind of official Samsung Tech support/troubleshooting (paper, online/chat, phone). It's like the company is not even aware of this fix; they are just asking you to go grow super frustrated and rip them a new one on social media and swear off all Samsung products ever again.

Thank you, had power outage in area, sound bar not seeming to be connected to TV but could hear commands when selecting sound bars remote. Unplugged HDMI ARC & power cord, re plugged all is good!

If you have a 5.1 system (or more) unplug all speakers from the power as well. Unplugging just the sound bar didn’t work for me, but it all came back on after disconnecting it all from the outlets
