How to Seal Draughty Wall Vents with Fullers Ultraclear | by ecoMaster

We’re looking at lots of different places where you can use FulaSeal UltraClear to seal up gaps and cracks around your home. Here is a wall vent, now there are few steps to sealing up wall vents. The first one is to clean it up thoroughly so we are not sealing up dust. Then we are going to seal it and the third step is making sure the parts that don’t need to be sealed are perfectly clean of the FulaSeal UltraClear.
Let’s do that now. The first part is cleaning up the wall vent itself. A brush is a handy thing to start with. So just to get to dust off the wall vent. The next thing you are going to need is some damp cloths. Two is a good number. The first one for the rough cleaning up and the last one for the final clean. I am just going to clean this up, to make sure that we have all the dust out of there.
Now when you are caulking a large gap, there is a special technique to use to make sure that you get it well sealed and the FulaSeal UltraClear doesn’t just fall through the gap. To do a large gap, caulk each side first and continue along that way until you have filled all off the gaps.
Then we will smooth off and clean up. You might want to wear a glove for that. It is best to wet your finger or a glove and just wipe over like that.
As you can see we have caulked the wall vent, we have smoothed over the FulaSeal UltraClear and now what we want to do is the final clean, it is very important, because if we have FulaSeal UltraClear on the other surfaces, it may dry just a little bit shiny and you may see that. So very important to clean up, remember we started with two cloths, we have used one and this is the one that we haven’t used yet. I am just going to clean up all around the surfaces like this, keep changing the spot that you are using. And that’s job done!
