There's a very good reason why none of these techniques were taught in school.

You should invest in a small like er32 collet set to use as your milling attachment. Jacobs chucks are not good for milling. I'm impressed it works so well for you though. Lots of good knowledge here

Thank you for your informative videos- you really have some great ideas- I think if you titled your video with what you are making- like radius cutter, adjustable boring head etc you would get more views though.

S45C is equivalent to EN8. On a manual lathe you'll get a better finish using HSS tools and taking deep cut, rather than using what looks like braised carbide

I am imperssed... The word "Can't" isn't in your dictionary. I really liked the splines. Saw them in another video and thought they were repurposed CV joint splines. Good job!

4:28 If you turned the compound (topslide) to an angle, and fed the work using the compound feed handle, you would create an ellipse!

Someone is as creative as Mesin Machine Mekanik or is similarly creative. Hopefully when I get my lathe I too will be able to make much of my own tooling instead of having to buy expensive tooling. As a WANNABE Machinist it always enjoyable seeing a MACHINIST that can do with what they have and some otherwise scrap metal being repurposed have to make what they need to do income producing jobbing tools and skills.

How to make a tool for building splines in cylindrical bushings or couplings????
Lets say rectangular shaped splines and 11 of them, sometimes i wonder if there possibility building a broach or cutter that can cut all splines per single pass????
