The PSA test is a blood test measures the amount of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. PSA is a protein produced by both cancerous and noncancerous tissue in the prostate. The test can detect high levels of PSA that may indicate the presence of prostate cancer. However, many other conditions, such as an enlarged prostate or prostatitis, can also increase PSA levels. Therefore, determining what a high PSA score means can be complicated. Professional organizations vary in their recommendations about who should — and who shouldn't — get a PSA screening test. Discussing with your doctor the benefits of the PSA test can help you make an informed decision.

Deciding on getting a PSA test done to potentially identify prostate cancer in it’s earliest stages can help you greatly in treating the disease more effectively.

In this video by world renown surgeon Dr. David Samadi, you will learn about the importance of getting a PSA test, and how you can save your loved one by helping them to get screened today!
