If you don’t have a small iso you can put in your pocket then draw one real quick. Sometimes you need to convert a contract drawing which is a plan view to a isometric drawing.

Ground is always good. Draw it out, everything is in 2D and easily measured, if I do anything with pipe it gets drawn out. Fabricating a shed is easier than getting a handrail within the same tolerances. Shed tolerance is 1mm, I prefer 0.5mm shorter than 1mm longer, if you can trust the person putting the columns in. I'm gonna say the process, just for me, rafter is shed width -plates (2×12 or 16) -purlins (usually 2×100) -columns (typically 2×250) ÷2 =X .. tan degrees × X ^2 + X ^2 √ gives the 2nd measurement. Shit, way off pipe.. pipe is easy though, circ = 3.14159 r^2, work from centre lines, any bends need to be accounted for growth on both axis lengths, a level has many uses. Remember, x÷y 2nd tan gives degrees... Been doing my job just long enough to be able to keep my mind active on the big jobs, small jobs go to the apprentices now. Give them a sample, they duplicate while you're having a smoke and a chat. If they fuck it up, they get to practise the next step of tacking and welding; before cutting it out and starting again. Then they know why you're being a prick, they've experienced what a poor fit up is.. oh, never expect someone to do something you wouldn't do. Good rule of life in general
