I used to adjust kW bids like you but from my experience a 2 x bid does not lead to a 2 x acos and vice versa with lowering bids. Acos gets out of control when doing this, especially if you rise to higher bids (> 3 €) in a competitive niche. What I do now instead is I decrease bids by 20% on kW that perform over my target acos and increase it by 25% on small acos kW. In that way you will keep more control over your spendings and earnings. PPC is verry sensitive and can get out of control by drastic bid multiplications.

I ran a few ads and the effect was good, but until recently I negative some KWS (not sure if it has any effect), traffic and conversions started to get worse, I should reopen some new ads with the same KWS and you method to try?
