Adding wireless charging to devices is way too easy... #arduino #raspberrypi

In this video I use a simple inductive charging kit to add wireless charging to a cheap Amazon NES controller. This process simply involves locating the internal +5 and ground pins in the controller and soldering appropriately.

I can't wait to add wireless charging to my pacemaker.
Gotta try this when I'm home.

I would recommend adding a diode in series with the wireless charger output so that when the USB port is used for charging, no current is back-fed in the wireless reciever circuit.

You can get a more sophisticated Qi-compatible receiver and use a standard wireless charge pad with it as well

add two magnets with reverse polarity on both sides and you got perfect alignment! ✨

The NES takes 9v AC, but the first thing it does after the plug is convert it to DC. It can also run off of AA batteries, as can be seen from MattKC. You could put a battery holder for 6 NiMH AA batteries in an NES and make it charge wirelessly if you want to be completely unhinged.

You can also get these off the shelves QI chargers and solder on leads.

A+ looping ... also the inductive coils are nice.

This is super awesome. I can't believe I didn't know about these. I had been taking wireless charging replacements for phones and putting them inside. They are less bulky but don't work well. With those thicker coils it seems like these would work better and be significantly less janky.

Installed in my Car. Works perfectly fine. Thanks for the amazing Video!

I hope this has temp sensors because wireless chargers can get really hot, especially if there's no reflective plate under the receiver coil so it heats up all the conductive elements that are under it inside the device you're trying to charge. It probably won't catch fire but it'll fry your device.

only problem is it’s inefficient as hell

This is amazing. I’ve been dying to figure out a way to add wireless charging to my headset, since I always forget to plug it in at night, and I’m super excited to find out it might be possible! I don’t know anything about hardware but I think I can try this project
