Man I would love to see them interview the Build-A-Bear near me. Me and my partner went to one (I was buying their Christmas gift) and they decided on a Hello Kitty, but desperately wanted to put it in the suit a frog was wearing (we couldn't find another). We had to ask if we could take it off, and she said yes. So we stripped the frog in front of her and threw it in the Hello Kitty. As we were finishing and paying, the cashier asks what my partner was naming it. They look at me, look at the cashier, and just says "Anarchist." From the frog to that, she just started laughing so hard.
Oh, and my partner also put the snoring sound meme into the paw, just as a chery on top.

Kids are so sweet sometimes. I worked as a teacher in a primary school when I lived abroad. I taught English (as a foreign language) and Maths. On my last day the kids told me they wanted to give me something. They gave me a box with chocolate, photos of each of them saying something nice and a card that said we love you forever. I kid you not I started crying then and there and two of them came up to me and hugged me telling me not to be sad. I told them I wasn't sad, I was just crying because I was so happy. Then one of them said "you know, I never liked Maths but your lessons were always really fun"

This is why I am a teacher. Not for the presents but for kids to say that they learned to love my subject. 3 years ago and I remember it clear as day

I had a dad pay in cash and his four year old daughter asked if she could keep the change. He goes “what do you need the change for?” She holds out her hand and deadpans, “my taxes.”

Aww.... my son used to be like this. When he was 3 he would always invite random people over to play. Like people in line at the grocery store. He was so cute. Hes 24 now. Hes still the nicest person But I would sell my soul for my kids to be little again and get to live those years all over again. Cherish every moment. They grow up so fast. Its cliche but true.

Kids are very pure hearted. I work as a preschool teacher and at this point I have lost point of the amount of times that a toddler has invited me to their house, birthday party, vacation, etc.

A couple weeks ago I had a kid tell me he was moving to Hawaii after the semester ends. I gasp and say “Oh, I’ll miss you so much!” and he says “Well you can come with me if you want.” After I say that I can’t, this four year old says that he’ll give me his phone number so that I could call him!

When I was a lifeguard at this indoor waterpark, I was warned by my coworkers when trading posts that there was this "annoying girl trying to make tiktoks with us". (I was 18, she must've been like 14). So she comes up to me like clockwork and says "OMG WILL YOU MAKE A TIKTOK WITH ME IT'S MY BIRTHDAY?!" And I was like "You know what? Sure." Still super awkward, but her and her group of friends freaked out and were like "You're the only one who was nice to us!!!". She asked me when my break was and I told them I'd go swimming with them on lunch. She then asked if I was going to eat and I told her no I didn't have time but that was okay, so she called her mom and asked her to bring me a 3 pack of taco bell tacos and leave them at the front desk 🥲 I found them on my next break with a note from her mom that said "Thanks for taking time out of your day to celebrate, *girl's name* said you were very kind."
Literally one of the sweetest moments I've ever had.

Ok I have to shoutout the build a bear worker in a Walmart in Riverside!! The one next to (John’s incredible pizza). Well I go in for my daughters birthday bear. And I wanted to put in those voice things to record myself singing a song to my daughter. I was in tears trying to sing “La vie en rose.” My daughters middle name is rose so i made that her song. While im singing im in tears.

I have stage 4 breast cancer and im only 25 and my daughter is 2. Got diagnosed last year. My worst fear is having the cancer win and me being taken away from my baby girl. And her forgetting me. So I recorded my voice so she at least could still hear my voice if im gone. It was the most gut wrenching thing I had to do but I did it. The worker there was so touched by my story that he allowed me to do another voice for free and in that one I recorded myself saying goodnight to her and that mommy loves her so so much. And to have good dreams.

So im in tears apologizing and the amazing worker says no worries and asks if we were buying the best any outfits. Since we’re pretty broke half the time I said no just the free bear and the voice please. So he threw in a whole fairy outfit for my girls bear for free. Then he said the whole best was free. I didn’t pay a dime for my girls bear. I’ll never forget this experience and I’ll never not believe that there’s no food left in this world because there always will be. And thanks to that worker my daughter will have my voice if something happens to me.

I work at a grocery store. We don’t have stickers for kids in the register drawers, but we have “thanks for coming!” stickers. They’re kind of ugly and utilitarian, for larger items to show they’ve paid. I always offer tiny kids these dumb shit stickers and they always light up. I love it.

The build a bear near me, I was getting a matching frog with my best friend. We're both 21. They still kept the magic of it for us, since we told them we've never been as kids (poor™) it was wonderful

My ALL TIME favorite moment so far while working with kids (working with them for about 4 years now, ages 0-21) and there was one time a 3 year old patient came up to me after her appointment (I was the one who took her vitals and put her in the room) and kissed my cheek without me knowing she was going to! UGH! my heart melted! I gave her a big hug and her mom laughed 😂😂 they are literally one of my favorite families to see

The first time I had a (child) student in my art class ask to get a picture with me after class, and the mom told me how her daughter was asking how she can be like me when she grows up. Had more like it since, but that first little girl who looked up to me was *chefs kiss* my favorite beautiful moment. And I still have her picture in my phone to remind me why I love my job on those days I just can't even.

I’ve never actually been to any build-a-bear but when I was younger I really wanted one. But I went to something similar at great wolf lodge when you get a wolf instead, either way, build-a-bear seems like a blast.

Once I was out eating with my roommates, a little girl came out of nowhere, sat down with us, and invited us to her birthday. She was so sweet and decided to eat at our booth with us, her parents even bought us a dessert as a thank you for “babysitting”

I just recently went to build-a-bear with my partner.(we are both autistic) and my parter wanted us to have frogs and I named mine frogbert because i’ve always dreamed of having a frog with the name frogbert. And they named their frog frogbertha. And the lady at the register got the birth certificates and she said to us “these are the funniest and best unique names ever I love them” and she gave our stuff for free basically it was amazing and I was so happy. Because I didn’t even notice until I got home and my mum said you got your stuff for free. I was shocked but it made sense for why she told me to get a little ornament but I didn’t get it and I wish I did :(

Working at a build a bear while sometimes stressful is so much fun when you have these sweet little interactions
