Honda Civic Type R Hatch

After many years of hearing the Honda fanboy faithful sing the praises of the Civic, especially the Type R, I can admit that I am beginning to get it.

We were loaned this 2018 Honda Civic Type R Touring from our friends at Peltier Subaru in Tyler for a fun afternoon of driving and filming. As the first proper manual transmission we have tested, outside of our own personal vehicles, it was very refreshing to get more involved with the whole driving experience of the car.

The 6-speed manual in this Type R is perhaps my favorite to date, reminding me of my brother’s old Honda S2000 with its nearly perfect 6-speed. Couple that with a powerful power plant under the hood and a limited slip front differential that works magic when driving the car hard, and you have a very exhilarating car.
