Drought

A regional drought worsened by the El Nino weather phenomenon has affected South Africa, Malawi and Zambia as well as Zimbabwe, leaving tens of thousands of cattle dead, dams depleted and crops written off. A drought occurs when the soil and the environment get no or very little water. It can reduce or destroy crop production and affect animals by reducing their feed or by destroying their natural habitat.VIDEOGRAPHIC
