That’s why you name your children after people you love. My mother named me Susan which is derived from Lily which was my grandmother’s name. I in turn named my daughter Lily.

We chose names because we liked people we'd met with those names. We also considered if we could live with our sons' names being shortened by their friends. We chose standard spellings and gave them different initials.

I was a middle school teacher for 25 years....I would like a certain name and it would turn out to be the name a student who drove me insane....In all those years, I never had a student named Avery...so that name won by default

This cracked me up because when my now ex-wife gave birth to our daughter, she later said "if she would have realized the day it was she would have held her in until the next day" because my daughter just happened to be born on the same date as an ex that she hated.
