Yes, we all go through hard times and some injustices. . usually at a young age when we cannot absorb or evaluate them properly due to our lack of world experiences at that time. Later, is where 'sad songs' can reconnect us with those hurts and we can (if we are brave) re-evaluate those times and events from a more mature perspective. This IS what psychoanalysis is all about only in this case you are the analyst, because these days that old science has become too expensive.
Be brave, realize that you were not in charge and forgive yourself for feelings of guilt or inadequacies, that was/is NOT you it is what was put onto your shoulders.
