Always was Is and will be a big Lowndesy fan, being a holden man, even through his endeavours with ford he was still number 1 in my books. Just a great guy and an absolutely electric motor racer

Lowndes is a legend. While yes, Ford v Holden will always run through Supercars, but to honour Peter Brock, we can forget about our ‘war’, and respectfully honour a legend of our Motorsport.

Lovely story. Many years ago I did some official motorsports photography work and late one night after a Supercars event, I was leaving the media room with my gear, and as I walked across the lonely carpark to my car, I heard steps behind me. I turned and there was a smiling Peter Brock - walking towards me, hand outstretched to say goodnight and thank you for your work around here - or words to that effect. A lovely moment.

I met Peter on several occasions, Dad worked for GMH and via my photography and he was ever the gentleman, despite being pursued by hundreds at every turn. I've even seen guys queue up holding their bonnets for him to sign. Special memories indeed. I still keep a few unpublished photos of the guy in action. Cheers - Dave

Lowndsey, my god it was absolutely fantastic to see you drive Brockys Torana. Yes huge rivalry between the two camps, but everyone admired Brocky, whether it ford or Holden. You were extremely close to Brock, you are a legend in your own right and that was a magical day and moment.

Didn't know they still raced V8s in this country. First the cars went ugly, then Tony Abbott kicked Holden in the bum, then it all disappeared. Fizzled Out,
