"Self-Titled" is a mini art feature comprised of several parts that give a glimpse into BEYONCÉ. In Part 1, Beyoncé describes her yearning for an immersive musical experience.

I remember when this album came out. I was at the Waffle House near my school and was eating with my friends. I just randomly when on iTunes because i was bored and all I saw was this black and pink banner that read BEYONCE. And then more banners popped up and i was like "oh Beyonce released a new single." Then I saw more and was like "no wait. Its an album?!" I panicked for a moment. I saw the Drake and Frank features, the videos and was compelled to rush to my dorm and watch it. Everybody was going crazy over it. I'll never forget that. I hope to do the same with my art one day.

BEYONCÉ was the most genius move she has ever done. Brilliant piece of art. People may not have recognized this enough but it sure made an impact to those who did. When this dropped the world was shook. Nobody could believe she had done an entire album and visuals yet not one thing leaked! Not one person that worked with her spoke about it. This shows how highly respected she is.

I feel humble at this point, I remember i came back to the hotel, in a kinda weird day. I mean I don't know why I'm writing this, but anyway, i was kinda sad and shocked at the same time. And i open you know Facebook and saw "BEYONCÉ" in pink and i didn't feel to anxious about it, i kept scrolling and I literally didn't understand what was going on, so i open Twitter and realize what she did. I ran to the store it was around of 12 pm, and bought a damn iTunes Card and bought it, damn, it was crazy. Made my day, all these colors, songs everything about this album was awesome, songs, ideas, hair cuts. I went to Mrs. Carter Word Tour and literally saw the same hair cut in "Blue". Thank you Beyoncé, you're such an inspiration for me.
