82 rescued from gas pipeline fire

About 82 victims have been rescued from the area after a gas pipeline in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, caught fire.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari’s aide Jay Jay Denis said 12 injured victims received treatment at the Nurul Iman Surau and Sri Maha Kaliaman Temple.

They are now at a temporary evacuation centre at the Putra Heights Masjid multipurpose hall, he said.

Earlier, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) said six victims had been hospitalised after the fire.

Saya dahulu tinggal di USJ4 bersebelahan pipe Gas..Banyak orang yang tak tahu akan lepas Bunga api dan Mercun ke arah kawasan lapang itu..Mereka tak nampak pipe gas olih kerana pipe Gaa itu tertimbus. Mungkin ianya selamat olihkerana tak ada Leak selama 40 tahun ini.
Tapi pada hari malang semalam, pipe dah ada leak dan hanya tunggu sumber api untuk mencari malang. Saya harap jangan orang lepas bunga api atau mercun di kawasan sana yang dah ada leaking GAS pada Hari Raya kedua ini.

Bila Valve di Tutup, tunggu gas dlm pipe habis baru baru api tu padam 😢😢lama juga tu, klu ada valve dakat kebocoran tu kira baguslah.

Not sure if it's the cause since it's my boss's speculation (he and his family were evac out of there since the incident happened just 3 streets from his house and have to stay away till the gas burnt out for safety measurement). There was a water pipe repair work near ground zero with digging involved and chances are during the repair work, the gas pipe could have been damage in the process. Well, just speculation according to him as he was also panicking this morning when the explosion happened and the initial thought he had was earthquake since he didn't not see the the explosion firsthand while he slept in along with his family since it was Raya and school holiday for the kids. Now he and his family just waiting for the updates from his Whatsapp community group to be allow back home after the authorities locked off the area for safety concerns. Truly a pant shitting experience in life for him and his family.
