“So much to do, so little done…”
C.J. Rhodes.

I completed a PhD in 1997, which necessitated much research on Rhodes, Jameson and the territory that became Rhodesia, and this documentary not only brought much of that fascinating study back, but also filled in some of Rhodes’ earlier life!
Clearly and precisely choreographed, this was an excellent and engaging watch!

My name is Philip Rudd and I am descended from Charles Rudd . What is more interesting is that I was borne in 1964 and grew up in a house in Lulworth Cove called Hambury that my father had just bought from a Colonel Rhodes who was the grandson of Rhodes brother. While my aunt, at the time, still farmed in Zim . Small world!

I read a book on Rhodes once, but this video is far more informative. I learned more from
this in an hour than I did from this 250 page book.

Thanks to all involved.
As a bloke who knew the general outline of this guy's life, I had the gaps very nicely filled by this.

This is the best documentary I have seen in a good while. To cover such a polarising figure in the way you did, explaining the facts in a sensitive but balanced way is remarkable. You strolled into a minefield and came out of the other side with a gingerly step and a cart full of difused mines. Bravo!

Interesting documentary. I love the chronology in which the events are put out. Just a point of correction, Charter used to be called Enkeldoorn before being renamed to the current name, Chivhu. Harare was Salisbury.

A very informative and well-balanced account. Thank you! I am a Zimbabwean and the story is usually told as a lopsided account leaning either to one side or the other.

Fascinating. I learnt a lot about Rhodes by reading Wilbur Smith novels. This is just perfect.

What an amazing documentary. Think it is fair to say Rhodes was a man of his time. That may not sit well with people of today but of his time he was no different to the oligarchs of today
