They NERFED Pass Royale.

P2W players got a nerf. The diamond pass is quite similar in value to the old gold tier. BUT the F2P players got a buff, because the bottleneck of progression is gold and they gave F2P players 60k more gold per season. They also removed books from the pass so this is a big hit to near maxed out players, but a buff to early players that can only use books on level 8-10 cards. To compensate for the removal of books, they've added a lot more cards in the tracks.

They removed books from the pass entirely. But they are potentially adding books into the season shop.
To compensate, we're getting a lot more cards in the diamond tier.

It is easier for a mid ladder player to progress because the season shop gives you more flexibility in upgrading what you need.

It's so scummy to take away the ability to get chests, gold, and ESPECIALLY crowns from the events tab. I play casually and the events tab is how I got crowns and chests easily without losing my sanity, and I can't do that anymore. Thanks supercell! :)
