I just don't know how to thank you guys for every bit of info you shared here. I'm sitting right now in U Zlateho Slona waiting for my food on a third day of my solo trip in Prague. And each moment I roaming around I just know that I have a good place to eat or just to rest, because you shared this. And I see the difference between the touristy places nearby and the places you suggest - knowing those places from perpectove of a local is so valuable and so much valuable to have it as a tourist. Thank you again ❤️

I am a 55 years old german. I am going to Prague for some beers for about 35 years now. At least once a year, sometimes twice. I can confirm that Pilsner Urquell IS THE BEST BEER IN THE WORLD. Even at home I'm drinking almost entirely Pilsner Urquell (in bottles of course).
By the way, my favourite pubs over the years have been/are the U Fleku (specially in the 80s when 0, 5L cost 2, 40 CZK ;-) ), U Tomas and U Snellu (Kleinseite, mala strana), U Dvou koček (which you have forgotten to mention as a zoo pub) and U Kalicha (Svejks pub).

Although I was born in Czechia, I've been living abroad most of my life, and have been back many times. I have a lovely memory of going to U Kocoura with my wife on the one trip in 2004 when I met up my parents during their annual Czech vacation. My dad had his picture taken pouring a beer, and later I had mine taken at the same spot too. We all enjoyed a lovely meal and beers there, except my wife who was pregnant with our first daughter and was not drinking (this was happy news that my parents had just learned they were going to have a grandchild). That was 20 years ago now, my dad passed away a few years later and mom is gone too. It was a nice moment we spent a few days traveling together. Our daughter now is starting 2nd year university.

It is always nice to be back, seeing the home country and hearing Czech spoken.

Dobrý Advent a veselé Vánoce všem

Fantastic video, I love to see the old traditional pubs of Prague. I've never been to Prague, but it's a must visit for me after watching your videos. I'm a huge fan of Pilsner Urquell, there are a couple of pubs here in Ireland that do tank beers, Pilsner Urquell being one of them, but I'm certain it will taste so much better in Prague. Also the food looks amazing, the Goulash and potato pancakes looked amazing. Hope to visit Prague next year and thanks to you I now know where to go and how not to be scammed, keep up the great work !

3:55 I love you guys

Oh my god. My grandad used to go to this pub every day when he was a University student in Prague (Lichtenstein palace) in the 60s-70s. He always mentions it when talking about Prague. (Favourite story is watching the locals drink 20 beers everyday and stumble out)

It’s amazing to see it on the channel. 😅

Happened to come across U Kocoura today on our first day in Prague, and recognised it from the video. We stopped in, and loved the beer, the atmosphere and the staff. Amazing! 🍻

I fondly remember U Fleků (1968, 1972). Sat at a table with some East Germans on one occasion, had a great time.

We did the Prague zoo as a pub-crawl 2 weeks ago! It was my favourite part of my 1 month euro trip. We started early and stopped in at Ceska kuchyne for a late lunch. It was a lot of fun, it takes you past all of the best sites, and all of the bars are REALLY cool (and no we weren't yelling or being rambunctious). The only minor issue we encountered was at U zlateho slona because they said we weren't allowed to have only beer (i.e. needed to order food). We had JUST eaten so didn't want to get food. We politely asked if we could have just 10 minutes and convinced them to let us stand at a barrel and quickly have our pint. Everywhere else went perfectly! Thank you for the great advice!

No offense, but it makes no sense to go to Prague in several places in a row just to try Pilsner Urquell. Yes, it's almost perfect, which makes it quite boring, and I bet you can buy it even in your country. The preciousness of Prague, and The Czech Republic is in the enormous diversity of small breweries, and the thing you really should do - is to try as many sorts of different beers as you can. Some pubs like Zlý časy, Kulový blesk, Prague Beer Museum, e.t.c. will help you with this task.

So I couldn’t do the whole train but I did the following. Thanks for all the recommendations!

U kocoura- tasty klobasa and very friendly local patrons, I practiced my czech with a very friendly czech couple who may have been trying to find someone to pick up 😅

U černého vola - had good Olomouc cheese and seemed decently easy to get a seat if in a couple or 3.

U Hrocha - bartender refused to serve me because I was standing despite there being a dozen or so of older large drunk czech men all standing and being loud.

U Zlatého Tygra - was packed and I felt lucky to get a beer because the Barman looked a bit irritated so I did my best to just blend into a wall.

U Zlatého Slona - I would probably take tourist friends here. Open atmosphere, lots of seating, good food, and English speaking staff.

May I suggest you make a video with historic pubs that brew their own beer..no only Pilsner Urkell. We went to some lovely pubs that have been brewing their beer for centuries

Great video. I wish I saw this a month ago before I went to Prague but I did go to most of those old pubs on this video. A couple of other great ones but not fitting the zoo theme are U Medivuku which has tank Budweiser Budvaf (Czech Budweiser not American) which is a great old school Prague pub and Tankova Kozel which is more modern but serves Kozel light and dark from the tank.
