Newsom blames big oil and big oil blames California Regulation. California special blend gas regulation is only produced at a few refineries left in California so there’s no competition and they can sell it for whatever price they want. New refineries aren’t being built because California is going 0 emissions by 2035. Those of us still driving gas vehicles are stuck paying extra for a special blend gas no other state requires and a gas tax higher than any other state. California really wants everyone to be driving electric cars by 2035. Hard to believe the majority of the state feels that way, but here we are.
