I always have a good time watching your discussions about the engineering of our beloved instrument, as well as the other topics. Let alone enjoying the footage of such fine instruments in your collection. Best regards to all the team, including Maestro Tom.

Very useful George! Thanks. Was oreintating for a 3/4. Have now a 4/4 but expect the new car to have less space. Also that is a factor. Checking of the same brand. Will see if that means "The 3/4 model is taking less space in all its dimentions". Thanks :)

Ok, I have a video request, since this is by far the most informative yt channel when it comes to the dB: I've just bought a copy of a Carcassi bass. I've always been familiar with the overall shape, but when I decided to make a research and know more about the various building schools and styles, I could find very little data on the internet. So, apart from the difference between Gamba and violin, or big/small + comfortable/desirable, it'd be great for a lot of noobs like me to dig into that topic.

Very interesting, thank you George! An angled endpin when standing can change the dynamics to make a bass more playable in thumb position.

Dear George, very
and in the same context would You like to make another video
to the big secret of the ratio Swinging Stringlength to Carcass?!
Because You can find 3/4 by 106 cm, also 4/4 by 102 cm,
and much more confusing, one sounds not better than the other....;
The Art of Double bass making seems still not to be a art of engeneering,
still much more "try and error"....?! Is that really true?

Maybe the price of the old instruments has something to do with folks buying modern instruments!!
