The reason that we think this guy looks like an AI generated person is because of the upscaled image in the YouTube thumbnail, throws us straight to the uncanny valley especially next to the higher-resolution photo of Matthew Berman with his zits, unshaven facial stubble and grey hairs. I really enjoyed listening to this podcast and I am glad that you are diversifying your contents pool. One idea for next podcast topic that I have is while I really appreciate the technical and philosophical aspect of AGI and humanness, those are quite common theme in these type of conversation while detached from everyday life of listeners. I would very much like to hear more about detailed economics of transitioning from the society of human labor into AI driven automation and plans on overcoming the geopolitical challenges to avoid extinction and truly achieve a planetary system so that we can climb up the Kardashev scale. Thanks for your work Matthew!

Great interview Matt, required some ice breaking at start but made it even more to enjoy to hear it open up! If you take anything away from my comment: Seeing you appreciate the guest's input and taking the time to let it seep in a little is a truly superpower you have and I want you to continue to use. (Many podcasters fire of questions and it feels alot of time the guest inputs ALOT of effort in an answer and then it like gets swooped aside for the next question)

"Would someone like you be allocated more from the UBI system than say someone who was formerly a garbage man or does this reset the world and bring fairness that we don't have today?"

Everyone talking to AI today: You cannot create a masterpiece like Shakespeare, or Mozart, you cannot create a ground breaking theory like Einstein, Bohr or Planck.

I disagree that humans learn on much less information. Keep in mind that we have 12+ hours a day of us looking at things, hearing things, feeling things, getting feedback constantly. The amount of information we gather just in the first year of life is likely similar to what models are being trained on now (volume wise).

What happens to the coin if you have your eyes removed due to diabetes or one day your one number and the next you have eye surgery or lasik or PRK or some other virus that changes the eye… or damage to the eyes like blood vessels burst or a knife in the eye or something crazy.
